President - Barb Hatton joined the ALCS Board in 2008, bringing with her a passion for the project. As a retired school librarian and having worked for District #67 for 30 years, she brings many people skills to her position as chairman of the Board. She and her husband have three children and three grandchildren. |

Treasurer - Ray Skoreyko, self employed accountant, brings a wealth of community experience to the Board. He has been active in the Kinsmen, the Curling Club, the Golf and Country Club, the Yacht Club, Minor Baseball and his church. A Summerland resident since 1979, he is married with two children and two grandchildren. |

Vice President - Simon Wells is a lawyer with Davis LLP. He has appeared at all levels of the BC and Federal courts. His firm, with branches across Canada and in Japan, takes a strong interest in supporting charitable organizations. |

Secretary- Beth Bonten, on the executive since 2006, has worked in the public school system for over ten years, out of which has risen her passion for working with special needs children and adults. She spent 15 years living abroad, widening her experience of the world. She worked with special needs adults in Scotland, and has served on many Boards. Beth and her husband, Maarten, have two sons and two teenage grandchildren. |

Amanda Lewis, with five years on the Board, runs the Speakers Bureau from her wheelchair. She has first hand experience with camps for special needs children, which makes her passionate about the concept of having whole families involved. She is a student at Okanagan College. Her ambition is to become a professional motivational speaker. |

Blayne Brethour is chairman of the Promotions and Marketing Committee which helps to develop and design marketing pieces. A consultant for Great-West Life for 13 years, Blayne also has had extensive service involvement with charitable organizations. He and his wife live in Penticton and have two teenage daughters. |

Bonnar Dowler, is a founding director and a driving force in the creation of Agur Lake Camp. Realizing from personal experience the stress on a family who have a member with special needs, he advocated until the community supported and implemented his idea. Bonnar and his wife Marilyn have a mixed family of four children and four grandchildren. |

Carla Ohmenzetter, an active member in her community of Summerland, brings an understanding of planning, zoning and board advocacy from her experience on municipal council. As a business woman and director of the local Community Futures organization, Carla has an understanding of financial and budgetary processes and has a personal desire to see the successful development of Agur Lake Camp. |

Gina Morin, a new Board member, comes with over 12 years experience with BC Lotteries as casino site operations manager in Penticton. She has a husband and three young-adult children. As a teenager she experienced her family coping with a special needs sister, which was "life-defining for all of us". |

Rick Thorpe, CMA, FCMA, 22 years as an executive in the Canadian brewing industry, a former partner in a major Okanagan winery, and 13 years as a member of British Columbia's legislature serving as an MLA and a Minister. Rick currently serves on the Board of three non-profit societies, and the Board of two private companies. In addition Rick and his wife Yasmin serve as Honorary Co-Chairs of the fundraising committee for the Okanagan College's new Centre of Excellence in Penticton. |

Steve Tuck is a director with a wealth of experience in publishing (Forever Young and other magazines) and academic achievement (McMaster, York, UNB and INSEAD). His extensive community involvement was recognized by the B.C. Community Achievement Award (2007). Amongst other honours he has received a Honourary Doctor of Letters from Okanagan University College. |

Keith Dixon manages the ALCS website, and comes with experience on a variety of Boards, including one composed entirely of people with disabilities. Polio at 15 has limited his mobility. Retired from social work, he writes professionally and does photography. He has three children and three grandchildren. |
The Board of Directors
Monthly meetings occur the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7 pm in the Atrium of the Ramada Inn. Members are welcome.
