Summerland Legion donates $22k to community groups Published 4:10 pm Wednesday, November 5, 2025  By John Arendt    The Summerland Legion donated close to $22,000 to numerous groups and organizations in the community. (Contributed)  The Summerland branch of the Royal Canadian Legion donated close to $22,000 to groups and organizations within the community.  The donations were presented on Oct. 30. The money came from events that included bingo, meat draws, 50/50 draws and sports raffles. Funds are distributed to organizations deemed eligible by BC Gaming.  The organizations included the South Okanagan Similkameen and Kelowna General Hospital Medical Foundations, Summerland Youth Centre, Cops for Kids, Summerland Food Bank, Agur Lake Camp, Scouts and Guides.
