PLANNED/LEGACY GIVING

What is Planned or Legacy Giving?

A Place Where Memories Blossom: Agur Lake Camp

At Agur Lake Camp, something truly special happens. Families arrive carrying wheelchairs, walkers, or the weight of daily challenges—and leave with lighter hearts, brighter smiles, and memories that last a lifetime. Tucked away in the beauty of British Columbia’s wilderness, Agur Lake Camp is the only barrier-free campground of its kind in the province. Here, nature opens its arms to everyone.

Children catch their very first fish from an accessible dock. Parents watch their loved ones explore trails they never thought they could reach. Around the fire, stories are shared, laughter is heard, and worries seem to fade away. For many, it’s the first time in a long time that “yes” replaces “no” and possibilities outshine limitations.

This magical place exists because people believe in inclusion, joy, and belonging. To keep the camp thriving for generations to come, we are building the Agur Lake Camp Endowment Fund. Every contribution, big or small, becomes a seed of hope—growing into opportunities for families who dream of time together in nature, free from barriers.

By giving, you’re not just supporting a campground—you’re helping create a sanctuary where love, acceptance, and laughter are always in season.

Please consider contributing to the Agur Lake Camp Endowment Fund, and help us keep the magic alive for every family who needs it.

We are able to accept many types of non-cash gifts, including stocks, real estate, mutual funds, life insurance policies or a bequest in a will. A gift of this type can save you, as a donor, significant amounts of taxes while demonstrating your commitment to the community.

If you would like to learn more about planned giving and how to create your lasting, impactful legacy please contact Society representative, Jill Kelland, at [email protected] or contact Yuki Ihara at [email protected].

People think that leaving money to a charity will diminish what they can leave to their kids. But because of Canada’s tax regulations, you can give money to a charity that you would otherwise give to Canada Revenue Agency in taxes. And if your net income in the year of your death is lower than the amount you give, your executor can claim a rebate against your previous year’s income and add that to your estate. For more information visit Canada Helps.

Advice should be obtained prior to acting on the basis of the above information.
We recommend that you seek your own financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice for your specific situation.
